Verbs - Classes

Verbs are separated into classes depending on endings of their infinitives. Once a person is familiar with the classes, they then learn how to conjugate the verbs in each class.

In Spanish, there are -ar verbs, -er verbs, and -ir verbs. The perceptive student will quickly notice that -er and -ir verbs share many features.

In French, verbs can be put into three categories: -ir, -er and -re.
