1. Write más and then an adjective.

Di Vinci es el artista más popular.
Di Vinci is the most popular artist.

2. Use the adjective best or worst.

mejor - best
peor - worst

3. Construct a superlative adjective. Take the adjective: if it ends in a consonant, add an ísimo ending, and if it ends in a vowel, remove the vowel and then add an ísimo ending. The four possible ísimo endings are shown below:

• ísimo
  
• ísima
  
• ísimos
  
• ísimas

If the chosen adjective has an accent, this accent mark is dropped in favor of putting the accent on the first i of ísimo.

Orthographic changes:

• If the adjective ends in z, the z changes to a c..
  
• If the adjective ends in g, a silent u is added to before the ísimo.
  
• If the adjective ends in a c, the c is replaced with qu.
