Coordinating Conjunctions

PORTUGUESE The words "and", "but", and "or" are coordinating conjunctions. If Portuguese is like Spanish, then there are multiple words that all translate to the same English coordinating conjunction. For now, we will use examples from my translator program.

Eu quero as calças azuis e o suéter verde.
I want the blue pants and the green sweater.

Eu quero nadar, mas está chovendo.
I want to swim, but it is raining.

Ela teve que escolher a safira ou o rubi.
She had to choose the sapphire or the ruby.
