I don't doubt that one of the first questions people will ask is "Are they
intelligent?" I'm not certain how we will judge that. How would we prove
that we are an intelligent species? Maybe we not. I'm not always sure
when I here some of the dumb things politicians say when making speeches.

I hope that they are. I want to talk to them, one way or another. I found
some drawings today. I saw one of the primates break off a stalk {tallo)
of some plant that has a dark red dye. She drew on the side of a cliff.
It was fascinating. It was the drawing of a male primate, and the drawing
was anatomically correct. I thought the quality of the drawing was good.
It seemed the size of his chest was exaggerated. I haven't seen any males
with chests that much larger than their waist size.

I want to follow her and see if she shares intimacy with a male that has a
large chest relative to the rest of the tribe. That would indicate a
thought, a connection between her preference and her art. It would mean
that she thinks about what is attractive to her even when she doesn't see it.

I got some footage of the primates on video camera today that I
know won't be approved for general release. I guess it is fair
to call it mature subject matter.

I found myself so fascinated. It made me think about intimacy and nonverbal
communication. What does it mean, that simple feeling of touch, of one
person's hand on another person's body. I think they enjoy it just as much
as we do. Maybe a psychologist could determine a few things about me from
my reaction to what I saw, and what if made me think, what it made me feel.
I enjoyed watching two primates just lie one next to the other, with a hand
touching the other. They were resting, and I know I will see a picture of
if in my mind every time I feel contentment.
